Images around the room help set the tone

Letter writers pour out their good wishes and blessings

Reflections from Jo Hoag

Images from the Uganda letter writing room............I loved seeing the church school children come into the room. Many watched the video of Humble School kids at worship, in the classroom, and on the soccer field. One noted that all the students were black. Another was amazed that the boys wore ties. They liked the student photos on the tables and walls and were fascinated with the soccer ball made from banana leaves. They seemed to know that writing to these far-away friends was important.

The card making was undertaken with passion and creativity. From 3 year-old sticker mania to beautiful cards of encouragement and love, it was a production! Many included family photos. One dad shared a much worn wallet photo of his daughters. A 7 year-old pasted up her photo on a rainbow then filled in every inch of her card with design and words.

Making cards for Uganda was fun. Parents worked with their children in writing messages of hope and friendship. God's love shone through our Crossroads families to the children of Humble School.

Parents lead the way by bringing their children to serve

Like so many of the wonderful parents at Crossroads, Lynda and her husband want their children to learn about the importance of serving others at an early age. How do you realistically give pre-schoolers and young elementary aged children a chance to make a difference in someone's life? Start with kids serving kids. Lynda and her kids made crafts and wrote letters to share the love of Jesus with children from Maryland to Jamaica to Uganda. Theses little hands made an impact on three different continents today! Their service through the Letter Writing Misison andthe Children's Inn Crafts Mission shouts the message loud and clear: "We love you and Jesus loves us all!"
